This page is for people and moderators on Mastodon and other fediverse servers who meet a Bearletter blog. It says what these accounts are, which rules they follow and how to reach us.
What a Bearletter account is
- Each account is one person’s blog on Pro, named after its address:
@name@social.bearletter.com, or@name@their-domain.comonce the blog is on its own domain. Its profile links to the blog. - It publishes the blog’s articles, with a title, summary and link, and edits or deletes them when the writer does. It does not follow people, boost or post replies.
- It only sends posts out. Replies, likes and boosts sent to a post are accepted and not kept; to reach the writer, reply by email from the blog or use the links on it.
- Bearletter has no local timeline and no sign-ups for fediverse accounts other than blogs.
Rules
Every blog follows our Terms of Service. In short: nothing illegal or infringing; no spam, phishing, scams or malware; no harassment, threats or exploitation, and never sexual content involving minors.
Reporting a blog or post
Email hello@bearletter.com with the account and the posts you mean. Reports sent with your server’s Report button are not read: Bearletter’s fediverse server keeps nothing it receives but follows.
What we do
- We remove content or suspend a blog that breaks the rules. A suspended blog’s fediverse account is deleted, and the servers of its followers are told.
- Your server can block social.bearletter.com or a single account at any time; we send posts only to the servers of an account’s followers.
